To cap off the week of Coaster Con
44, which concludes at Kennywood the previous day, ACE
Western Pennsylvania invites all ACE members and their
guests to attend Allegheny Mountain Madness to take place at
Lakemont Park in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and DelGrosso's Park
in Tipton, Pennsylvania. These parks are just 10 minutes
away from one another and less than an hour and a half from
Idlewild and SoakZone, where many will be gathered that
morning. At Lakemont Park attendees will enjoy Leap The
Dips, the world's oldest roller coaster, and Skyliner, the
park's other classic wood coaster.
Both of these roller coasters are remarkable stories of
preservation. DelGrosso's Park counts
two coaster credits -- a spinning Crazy Mouse and a kiddie
coaster, as well as a lot of classic rides and an amazing
waterpark themed to Italy. An evening group dinner will
include a variety of their food known to be
some of the best in the country. The menu will include a
half BBQ chicken, spaghetti with DelGrosso's marinara sauce,
and Murf's famous potato salad.
At Lakemont Park,
event registration includes one ticket to ride
Leap The Dips
and one ticket to ride
Skyliner. Given the low
capacity of these classic rides, event organizers believe
that attendees will have the best experience with their
visits occurring at various times, rather than everyone
descending on the park at once. Those preferring to purchase
an Unlimited Ride & Play Pass may redeem the tickets for $6
in credit toward the pass; and that offer is valid on the
day of the event, as well as the next day (Sunday, June 26)
and on Sunday, July 24, when ACE Western
Pennsylvania holds its Gary Baker Memorial Day informal
event at the park. The actual ride tickets are valid any
operating day during the 2021 season.
At DelGrosso's Park, event registration includes the

Join ACE Western Pennsylvania for a second event on the same
day! Before running for the Allegheny Mountains, start at
the foothills of the Laurel Mountains. ACE Western
Pennsylvania invites all ACE members and their guests to
attend ACE Goes IdleWILD at Idlewild and SoakZone beginning
earlier that morning on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Come
discover this amazing family-oriented park in a lush wooded
setting. Idlewild offers Rollo Coaster, a fun hillside
junior wooden coaster; and Wild Mouse, a unique and
exceptional version of the ride set among the park's trees.
Attendees will also find a number of classic rides including
Adult Hand Cars -- if you remember riding little
hand-powered cars on tracks at parks as a kid, this is a
larger one that accommodates adults! For the kid in all of
us, the park offers a ride into Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood,
based on the values of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
Additionally, SoakZone is an awesome family water park and
Story Book Forest is great fun for families with small
children and all of those adults wishing to relive their
childhood! The event includes morning ERT on all of the
aforementioned rides, plus a great all-you-can-eat picnic lunch!
Click the ACE Goes IdleWILD event logo above for more
information on that event!
